I'm Sandra! I'm a wife and mother of two sweet boys. When I'm not volunteering for Hope for HS, I love to read fantasy novels, play video games, and buy supplies for crafts that I will never start. I love animals and have little cat called Olive. I like hiking and rambling around nature when I can and try to get out to the mountains when I can too. I Love the seaside, music and I always take any opportunity when I'm public speaking to talk about HS. My hobbies are gardening and travelling, and I love dogs.

Some would say that because it is not visible, HS does not exist. Whether it's my family or my friends, even though they're close to me they don't understand how hard it can be.

get yourself referred to a Dermatologist who has experience treating HS.  There are many more treatments available now compared to when I was first diagnosed and a Dermatologist can tell you about them. Have faith and work with them through this.

you didn't choose to have it so you also don't need to hide it. We are Warriors and if we deal with this pain on the daily, then there's nothing that can stop us!

At first, I had a really hard time opening up to people about my HS. I didn’t know how to describe it and I was terrified of judgment. Once I worked up the nerve, the response I received was amazing
